Today I had the pleasure of accompanying Jack's 5th grade class to the Miyajima Public Aquarium. We had such a great time together. It thrilled my heart that he still wanted mom to go on a field trip with him. I know that there will come a day when that will not be so cool. Miyajima is about 30 minutes north of Iwakuni. It is a tiny island with lots of shops, restaurants, shrines and deer! The deer are very tame and walk around freely all over the island.

Miyajima is most famous for its giant torii gate, which at high tide seems to float on top of the water. The sight is ranked as one of Japan's three best views.

ReplyDeleteWe are! Trying to see and do everything that we can before our time is over. Some days, I feel a little ache to be back home, but I know that we are here for a reason so we will keep counting the blessings.
